New Economy

Veritas Principal, Tracey Chavira, has had the privilege of serving as a trusted advocate for prominent pioneering "New Economy" enterprises. Notable alliances include spearheading initiatives for innovative companies, such as UBER for LAX pick-ups, HomeAway/VRBO and Kilroy Realty for short-term rentals, as well as Zirx and Luxe for on-demand valet services. Additionally, Tracey’s expertise extends to enacting ordinances for car2go/Daimler for carsharing solutions and catchr for microtransit services. Throughout these endeavors, Tracey has diligently engaged with local elected officials, key decision-makers and a diverse array of business and community stakeholders. This collaborative approach has been instrumental in shaping forward-thinking ordinances that align with the dynamic evolution of the New Economy landscape.

 
 

Public Safety

Public safety stands as a paramount concern for Angelenos, and Veritas Principal, Tracey Chavira,  embodies this commitment through her role with Allied Universal Services, the premier global private security company. With extensive contracts spanning LA County, LA City, Metrolink, Metro, private corporations, entertainment venues and business improvement districts, Allied Universal is at the forefront of safeguarding our communities, and serving as a force multiplier. Leveraging her deep understanding of policy, budgeting and procurement, Tracey adeptly navigates City Hall dynamics, having staffed the Public Safety Committee, thus fostering invaluable relationships with LAPD and LAFD. Additionally, Tracey’s alliances with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department allow her clients to address public safety challenges on a broader scale, ensuring that the safety needs of diverse communities are met with thoughtfulness.

Energy

Veritas principal, Tracey Chavira, has successfully represented energy interests, including solar, Hydrogen, natural gas and petroleum before regulatory bodies, such as CPUC, CARB, DOGGR/CalGem and SCAQMD. Given strict mandates to move toward 100% renewable energy by 2035, Tracey is working with her clients to assist LADWP and the Port of Los Angeles in reaching these goals. Tracey has been successful in bringing over 20MW of solar power to the Harbor areas of San Pedro and Wilmington, and beyond. Tracey is working with clients, True Green Capital and GreenQuest, to develop dozens of megawatts of solar energy and battery storage that comprise 70% of LADWP’s Feed in Tariff program. Clean energy comes in many forms, including solar power, wind energy, hydropower, geothermal and Hydrogen. Veritas’ clients are making innovations everyday in the clean energy space and positively impacting the way we drive, consume and breathe. 

 
 
 

Housing

Well known for her prudent advocacy in the realm of housing policy, Tracey stands as a respected figure in addressing complex housing matters at various governmental levels. At the forefront of pivotal housing initiatives across city, county and state, Tracey has been a driving force behind navigating contentious issues within the housing landscape. A key member of the team that effectively opposed the statewide "No on Prop 10" ballot initiative—aimed at repealing rent control without a viable alternative—Tracey showcases a commitment to fostering equilibrium in policy discourse, steering clear of polarizing outcomes and unintended consequences. With a steadfast dedication to advocating for Park La Brea, the largest rent-controlled apartment complex in the western region, Tracey has fervently tackled pressing matters and thwarted imprudent and unlawful housing propositions that could have exacerbated homelessness and housing instability.

Development

With a legacy dating back to 2007, Tracey has been instrumental in driving key projects in the residential, commercial, industrial and hospitality sectors throughout the region. From iconic endeavors like Bringing Back Broadway and the Los Angeles Streetcar to prestigious establishments such as the Intercontinental Hotel, Thompson Hollywood and Tommie Hotel, Tracey's leadership has been pivotal in shaping the cityscape. Veritas specializes in facilitating various critical processes, including transformer removals, pole relocations, solar interconnections, vault installations, main water line connections, lane closures, staging area approvals, B Permits, U Permits, noise variances and stakeholder engagement. By expertly navigating local agencies and addressing potential hurdles promptly, Veritas enables clients to navigate complex regulatory landscapes seamlessly, eliminating delays and fostering consensus.

 
 

Civil Infrastructure

By championing transformative transportation initiatives such as the Regional Connector, FasTrak and the Los Angeles Streetcar, Tracey has demonstrated expertise in spearheading impactful civil projects that yield regional advantages. Her involvement in vital urban mobility undertakings, including the Downtown Los Angeles Mobility Plan, underscores her commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure on a grand scale. In the wake of COVID-19, the imperative to accelerate civil infrastructure projects for the betterment of transportation, stormwater management, energy distribution, and EV charging has become paramount. With the passing of Measures M and W and the heightened focus by agencies on streamlining project approvals, Veritas is uniquely positioned to guide clients through the rigorous RFP process, identify strategic partnerships and secure essential permits and inspections necessary for successful project implementation.
